Aerial firing during the New Year celebrations left at least 19 people injured in various parts of the city. Flouting the Sindh government orders, people began firing in the air with the first second of the New Year night. Aerial firing was reported in the DHA (Defence), Nazimabad, Liaquatabad, North Karachi, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Lyari, Rizvia Society, Mahmoodabad, etc. The wounded, including women and a minor, were shifted to various hospitals for treatment. Police also arrested two persons for possessing arms and alcohol.
